More about Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya

Himalayan Breathwork and Kriya is a part of yoga, derived from ancient traditions of the Himalayas.

‘Kriya’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘action that leads us to evolution, expansion, and liberation’ and is referred to as the ‘yoga of energy’.

This embodied practice supports participants to harness their own breath, physical movement and targeted awareness to shift and reorganise their own internal states. Physical movement sits alongside stillness practices that can support coming into deeper states of awareness. This can help in:

  • Calming the mind and body

  • Awakening/enlivening vital energy

  • Releasing stress and emotion from the body and nervous system

  • Expanding consciousness and tapping into our creative potential

  • Experiencing states of unity and deep connection with Self

  • Building self-awareness of thinking, feeling, somatic and relational experiences, as they arise

  • Enhancing states of clarity and self-compassion

  • Optimising respiratory efficiency
